Ignition Interlock of Corpus Christi, ‘The Best Little Interlock Company in Texas,’ is in the business of separating drinking from driving. We do this by installing a breath alcohol ignition interlock device (BAIID) in the cars of DWI offenders. Ignition Interlock of Corpus Christi has proudly been a service provider of ignition interlock alcohol breathalyzer devices since 1995.
Our breath alcohol ignition interlock device (BAIID) or breathalyzer is a small electronic handheld device wired into the vehicles ignition system. The device requires the driver to take and pass a test that screens for breath alcohol. Without a successful pass the Breathalyzer disables the car’s starting system rendering the car inoperable. Additionally, the device will re-test the driver once the car is started. Several design features make circumvention and tampering of the device difficult. All of the test results and attempts are stored in a micro-chip, which is used to monitor the driver’s activity, and subsequently reported to the appropriate court authorities, probation officer, DMV/MVD or Judge. The device meets or exceeds National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and is certified in the state of Texas. All of our technicians are state certified professionals.
